Why Termite Barriers Are Important?
Termites and white ants are active in all mainland areas of Australia
34,000 homes each year are attacked by termites
The average damage cost is approximately $10,000.00
Termite damage is not covered by home or contents insurance
Steel roof homes are not termite proof. Other areas of the home are still vulnerable to termite attack. For example timber floor, kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Even electrical wiring.

Your Options
Under the Building Regulations, your new home must be fitted with a termite management system or be built with termite-resistant structural materials. As the homeowner, you can choose of the type of termite protection installed in your new home. The only opportunity you have to make this choice is before the commencement of construction. We have been providing termite barriers for new homes for more than a decade. We specialize in these termite barriers and are used by many of Australia’s leading builders. Our options include:
1
Physical Sheeting Termite Barrier
To prevent termites from entering your home, a physical termite barrier is installed around the building's perimeter and pipe penetrations. This type of barrier consists of large sheets, which can be placed underneath the building slab or around the house, depending on your requirements. The sheets are secured using adhesive and cloth tape. The installation process may vary, depending on the specifics of your situation.
Hand Sprayed Chemical Soil Treatments
Mainly now only used in Western Australia, this method involves the application of a termiticide to the soil under the slab, garage floor and around the outside walls. The treated soil is a deterrent to termites. To increase the level of protection with this method, we also install termite collars to all service areas. The perimeter chemically treated soil will break down within 5 years and further re-treatments will be required to maintain the effectiveness of the soil, although the termite collar pipes protection will still remain effective.
2
Termite Reticulated Barrier
These are rechargeable, piping systems that deliver liquid termiticide the soil next to critical areas under and around the house. The treated soil is a deterrent to termites. As any termiticide will break down in a few years, reticulation systems offer the benefit of being able to retreatment the soil without disruption. Again as an added benefit and higher level of protection,
3
Termite Baiting Stations Barrier
A termite baiting system is established through the installation of small plastic bait stations around the property. Depending on the size of the property, an average of 24 bait stations should be installed. The bait stations contain wooden inserts, paper, cardboard or other acceptable termite food, once termites have been located in the bait station the application of an insect growth regulator will be applied to the area that destroys the termite’s exo-skeleton, the termites are unable to moult their exo-skeletons for new growth and die off and eliminate their active colony.
4
Combinations of Termite Barrier
The most effective approach for termite protection may differ depending on the property's condition.
Once a thorough analysis of the property has been conducted, our technicians can provide recommendations for a treatment plan that utilizes a combination of multiple termite barrier systems, resulting in optimal protection against termite infestations.
